Add Video to Google My Business To Rank Higher

Video Transcript. Topic: How to add video to Google My Business listings.

Hey there, how you doing? Chris Carter here one more time again.

I want to talk to you about your Google My Business listing and one more thing you can do to get that thing to be a little more powerful to get it to the top of the search engines. Get more leads, more contacts, and of course more sales.

We've already talked about pictures, and how important those are and what Google has done to make it easier for you to tell your story using images. All the different places it allows you to add them and stuff like that.

Well, if we're telling a story what's better than video?

Nothing. There's absolutely, nothing better than video and Google gives you the ability to add video to your listing. Google helps you look more professional. Tell your story more completely. It's just a lot of goodness there.

So I thought I'd take this time in this particular video to show you exactly how to do it, so you can get on that bandwagon and get that goodness. Okay. So here we go.

Alright. So here we are over at Google My Business. And to get started, all you have to do is sign into your GMB page. If you don't already have one just click Start Now, add your business and go ahead and create a listing.

However, keep in mind you will need to have your listing verified, go through that process, before you be able to add video.

Add Video to Google My Business: First Steps

So here's how we do it. First we're going to go ahead and sign in and for this demo. I think I'm going to click on this particular business which will take me to the dashboard. Now, there's all kinds of goodness on this dashboard.

But we're going to do here is swing over here to the left hand side where you can see all the different things that are available to you. Now, when we do along the top you're going to see all those different categories of photos that we talked about before.

There's the Overview of course, By Owner, By Customer, Interiors, Exteriors, At Work, etc.

Now we're talking video today. So we're going to go ahead and click on the one that says video. Then we're going to go ahead and click the link that says post video and then we're going to wander around on a hard drive and pick whichever video we want to want, we want to use.

Think we'll use this one. Let's see give a second upload. And voilà, there you have it. We've added a video to the video section of our Google My Business listing and that is all there is to it. Simple.

All right, so video! Powerful. It's something you definitely want to jump on as soon as possible. Do not sleep on this.

There is nothing more power than video. It helps you in the search engines because everything that you can do to flesh out your Google My Business listing helps your listing, lead frog other listings to get up there.

But probably more importantly than the Google aspect of it, is the people aspect of it. It helps you tell the story, you know, you park a couple of videos on your Google My Business listing, I guarantee people will feel a whole lot more comfortable with you than if you didn't do anything at all. So it's just worth doing.

Now if you don't have a video pull out that smartphone, pull out a camera, get your inner Spielberg on and create a video. And then upload that thing to Google My Business listing. It's not hard practice, play with it. Don't be intimidated or anything like that. Get that thing made and get it up there to your Google my business listing.

If you're not quite sure you're you know, you're not quite sure how to do any of this stuff and seems a little intimidating, reach out to me. I helped get you over the hump. This is easy stuff. It's just too powerful for you to bypass. Okay?

Yeah, that's about it. Video. Google My Business listing. Don't sleep on it. Jump on it as soon as you can. All right. I'll talk to you soon. See you on the next video or wherever else we come across each other.

Talk to you later. Bye.
