There are a lot of advantages to using the internet for local marketing. One of the biggest advantages is reach. You can introduce yourself to a ton of people who otherwise wouldn't even know you existed.

Unfortunately, with all of that goodness comes a few challenges. One of the biggest challenges is accidentally rubbing people the wrong way.

I'm talking about that feeling you get when you're talking with someone and something's off. You can't put your finger on it, you just know that something about them just hits you wrong.

Local online marketing is all about building relationships. Your audience needs to trust that you're in their corner.

How you talk to your audience, has as big an impact as what you're trying to tell them.

Your Marketing Avatar, also known as your Buyer Persona, is the tool that helps you talk to your audience the way they prefer to hear you.

It's definitely a cool concept, but as topics go… it's a bit dry.

Dry or not, it's still critically important, so I tried to keep my presentation as light and entertaining as possible.
